In June of 2023, the singer posted a personal letter to his Instagram account about taking a break. Now, over two years later, he’s back. And the world his showing him just how much he was missed.
From cancelled shows to sold out tours – that is what Lewis Capaldi is currently experiencing. Lewis had been struggling with his Tourettes during concerts, barely being able to make it through entire shows. When he released his statement about having to cancel his shows until Glastonbury, he was met with nothing but support.
However, Glastonbury did not go as he probably expected. Again, his Tourettes was making it difficult for him to sing his songs. During his hit single “Someone You Loved”, the crowd took initiative and started singing for him. An emotional scene that spread like wildfire back then.
Almost exactly two years the Scott disappeared from social media and the public, being seen in one or two postings by his mates, like Niall Horan. He made an incredible surprise comeback with his performance at Glastonbury 2025 and has been unstoppable since.
A comeback for the books
In June of this year, he released his new single ‘Survive’, which is all about perseverance and kicking mental illnesses in the ass, no matter how challenging it seems. Shortly after that he announced tour dates for Australia and New Zealand, after not having performed there since 2019.
But he wouldn’t be Lewis Capaldi if he stopped there. A UK and Ireland tour for the summer of 2025 was announced just a few days later. Of course it sold out completely, faster than any other tour he’s ever played. No extra dates were added, as to not overexert himself right from the beginning.
If you think that has to be it – think again! Just last week he released even more tour dates for another UK and Ireland tour next year. Again, most of the shows sold out within minutes, leading him to add more shows this time around. Even for London’s Hyde Park, where he will play two shows in July.
Lewis Capaldi – an unstoppable force
He is currently on his first tour since making his incredible comeback and it seems to be going exceptionally well. But not only that, he also released another single. ‘Something In The Heavens’ takes listeners right back to the Lewis we always knew and loved. A heart wrenching song about losing someone you love, with just the right hopeful note and the promise of being reunited someday.
